Everything Genetic is pleased to announce that its testing laboratory, the Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Service (BSPS), is now the first UK laboratory to receive ISO 15189 accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to perform testing requirements for the Prosigna® breast cancer prognostic gene signature.
ISO 15189 is an international standard that certifies that BSPS has demonstrated the highest standards in quality and competency in its quality management systems.
The laboratory has undergone a long and rigorous audit process by UKAS inspectors of its Prosigna® testing processes. Assessments have been made of the laboratory’s patient sample collection process, interpretation of results, acceptable turnaround times, as well as inspection of how it educates and trains its medical laboratory users and consults with health care staff.
