Color Genomics is a US genomic testing company based in Burlington, California.
It was formed in 2013 and is one of the most widely known providers of predictive, or ‘screening’ tests, that help you understand your genetic risk for the most common hereditary cancers and heart conditions.
All use saliva, and some tests analyse the genes or groups of genes where identification of mutations or changes would indicate cancers such as breast, ovarian, colorectal (bowel), and pancreatic cancer are likely to develop, whether you are a man or a woman.
Other tests look at your risk for four inherited heart conditions including Cardiomyopathy – a disease of the heart muscle, Arrhythmia – any disturbance in the rhythm of the heartbeat, Arteriopathy – disease of the arteries, and Familial Hypercholesterolemia – an inherited high cholesterol condition.
Color collaborates with a number of top research hospitals, clinics and universities on the development of further advances in genetic testing.
