COVID-19 Antibody Instant Test

CE Marked. FDA Approved. Accepted by MHRA For Professional Use.

The COVIDtestUK Antibody Instant Testing kit is used for the detection of antibodies in people who have already been infected by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that causes the COVID-19 disease.

The test cassette is a lateral flow immunochromatography assay that detects late market IgG antibodies in a human finger-prick blood sample (whole blood/serum/plasma).

This 6th generation test kit is CE marked and approved by the FDA and accepted by MHRA for professional use. It has a sensitivity of 98.66% and specificity of 99.82%, higher than earlier generation testing for increased accuracy, with results provided in just 10 minutes at point of care.

The COVID-19 antibody test is supplied directly to employers for administration by a registered and licensed healthcare professional or occupation health nurse on-site. We also offer an on-site point of care testing service for your employees through our occupational health and safety partners, Healthscope (UK).

Sold in units of 1, 5 and 20 (discounts available when purchasing packs of 5 and 20). Each test kits includes a cassette, buffer solution, lancets, alcohol wipes and how to use guide.

You can access this test in a number of ways:

Why?Close tab

Recent studies show that a high percentage of people show no clinical symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, making testing of employees vitally important if you are to provide a safe working environment during the coronavirus pandemic.

The COVIDtestUK Antibody Testing kit can be used for the rapid testing of the workforce to identify those who might already have developed a certain level of immunity and can therefore continue and/or return to work.

The test is ideally suited for the testing of high-risk groups – including healthcare workers, teachers, food supply workers, and those working in transport and logistics. However, as the UK government updates its guidance on the lockdown measures, access to this rapid point of care test by employers across all industries will become even more important if they want to provide a safe working environment for those returning to work.

ResultsClose tab

Results are provided in 10 minutes at point-of-care on the test cassette. The test will show one of the following possible results:

  • Negative – This indicates that no anti-COVID-19 antibodies are detected in the specimen. This means the biomarkers are not present in your blood, but you should still exercise caution as you may still be in the early stages of infection (before IgM levels rise to a detectable level).
  • IgM Positive – This indicates the presence of IgM anti-COVID-19 in the specimen. If you test IgM positive, you are probably in the early phase of infection (3-7 days) and you should follow your country’s government’s advice on COVID-19 infection.
  • Both IgG and IgM Positive – This indicates the presence of both IgG and IgM anti-COVID-19 in the specimen. The result is IgG and IgM anti-COVID-19 positive. If you test IgM and IgG positive, you are in the mid-phase of the infection (7-14 days) and you should follow your country’s government’s advice on COVID-19 infection.
  • IgG Positive – This indicates the presence of IgG anti-COVID-19 in the specimen. If you test IgG positive, you are in the recovery phase of the infection, usually 7-14 days and you should follow your country’s government’s advice on COVID-19 infection.

It will also tell you if the test has failed, in which case you should ignore the result. This is normally due to insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural technique. In the event of test failure, review the procedure and repeat the test with a new test cassette.

All test kits come with an easy-to-follow guide on how to perform the test and read the results.
